It would be nice if we could migrate away from bacon message connection to dbus or something.  There are a few problems with how it creates sockets but it probably is better to just not use it.

GNOME 3 does this for us already and bacon message connection
is highly deprecated and has various issues.

Fixing Bug# 351087 would fix this bug too. Not exactly a dup but I'll mark it as such.
