GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 645554
MySQL backend fails to open after upgrade to 2.4.4 on Wiin 7 (64bit)
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:55:42 UTC
I was using 2.4.0 with MySQL database on Win 7 Home Premium (64 bit). On upgrading GnuCash to 2.4.4. I get the following error message: The library "libdbi" installed on your system doesn't correctly store large numbers. This means GnuCash cannot use SQL databases correctly. Gnucash will not open or save to SQL databases until this is fixed by installing a different version of "libdbi". Please see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611936 for more information. The specified bug report does not help and I have no idea where a "different" version of libdbi for Windows may be obtained. I have tried the files installed with 2.4.0 with 2.4.4 but that didn't help. The same problem occurs with 2.4.2 as well. I will return to using 2.4.0 for the time being.
Please check that the userid you gave to Gnucash for your MySql database has CREATE TABLE privilege.
Userid had CREATE TABLE but not CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE. Adding the later privilege seems to have resolved the problem. Thanks

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
