The check mark is in part 2, 2a.

When I put a check mark in a PDF document using Adobe Reader, it is displayed properly. When I open the modified file in Document Viewer, the dollar sign "$" is often displayed instead of typical check mark signs. In some cases, there is no mark at all, if the file is opened with the Document Viewer.
Please, open the attached file with the Adobe Reader first. Part 2, 2a is checked.
One more file can not be attached. One can download the tax return form 1040 and try to put check marks there.
