Description kvv 2011-02-24 20:28:40 UTC
Happened twice for me (on Windows Vista 64 bit).

1. I restared my computer, and launched Banshee, it gave me this error. I was still able to to launch it after, though.
2. I uninstalled and installed Banshee. On trying to launch it, I get this error, and now I am not able to launch Banshee at all.

If it helps, the problem details are as follows:

Can you launch a terminal (cmd.exe) and cd to c:\Program Files\Banshee\bin

and then run Nereid.exe > foo.txt

and then attach foo.txt here? I'm hoping we can get a better trace than that one.

Actually, check in your Application Data/banshee-1 directory for a file called log too, if it exists see if it contains the crash, and if so attach it.

This is immediately upon launch, or are you trying to play a track?

Can you get the log again, running with: `GST_DEBUG=3 Nereid.exe`? Thanks!

I rechecked the two logs and they look the same. I am assuming you wanted me to set the environment variable GST_DEBUG to 3 right? Maybe, I am just doing it wrong.

On restarting, Nereid.exe still doesn't run, but Banshee launches.

The log is almost identical except the warning in the second to last line.

What do you mean Nereid.exe doesn't run but Banshee launches? Banshee == Nereid.exe in this case.
Comment 9 kvv 2011-02-27 00:32:42 UTC
Yes, I realized that later, which actually makes this a little strange.

I am not able to reproduce the bug now, so I am guessing that restarting my system after installing Banshee did something.

If you want me to, I can try reinstalling and see if it happens again.
Comment 10 kvv 2011-02-27 00:55:32 UTC
Alright, I can reproduce the bug now. I happens when I run Nereid.exe twice without ending the first instance.

Meaning, I cannot have more than one nereid.exe running at the same time.
Comment 11 Matt Sturgeon 2011-02-27 00:59:42 UTC
Is it possible for Banshee to popup a dialogue telling you you cant have more than one instance of it?
