GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 642392
font in application display is too small
Last modified: 2012-01-18 20:00:00 UTC
With the switch to Cantarell, we're switching to a somewhat more lightweight font. This is problematic at the small sizes used in the dash - when I'm sitting at a normal, comfortable, viewing distance from my laptop (trying to avoid hunched-over programmer posture), the fonts in the dash and application display are really too small to be easily readable. 1440x900 display, 140 physical dpi. X seems hardcoded at 96dpi.
Changing the summary, as we no longer have labels in the dash ...
This is somewhat covered by bug 663725, although it might be good to deal with the text size separately. The label text should be bold and probably a little bit bigger... Here's the current mockup for reference: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell-design/plain/mockups/static/overview-application-picker.png

Thanks for the patch Alex! I'm sure a lot of people will welcome this change.
