Some examples where a Newbie has to gues what the application is about.

Actual behavior:
In the application overview as well as in the favorites applications the name of the program does not fit under the corresponding icon.
In some cases this makes it very hard to guess what the program actually is about. Names that are longer than (only) 11-12 letters are truncated.

Expected behavior:
There is a short and "speaking" name for each application that fits under the application icon in all cases.

Issue:
For users that are new to Linux or Free Software it is very hard to guess what the actual application is about. In some cases even the name of the application has to be guessed.
This is a big usability issue. Users cannot be expected to know the meaning of each of the application icons.

Workaround/Solution:
Probably three things have to be done simultaniously:
- Give the application logo enough space, such that the name of the application fits under its logo.
- Find short and speaking names/descriptions for all applications
- Use tooltips

I will attach a screen-shot that illustrates the issue for some cases.

Keep up the good work!
