GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 639480
apng format not supported
Last modified: 2015-12-18 17:45:14 UTC
Hello, another bug for this big piece of software: Gthumb could open apng image but the image are not animated. Thanks for your help. LGDN ps: links to apng image: http://www.animatedpng.com/wp-content/themes/apng_theme/images/samples/monkey_apng.png http://www.animatedpng.com/wp-content/themes/apng_theme/images/samples/william_wong01.png http://insanestudio.fr/studio/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/apng2.png http://littlesvr.ca/apng/images/lion-greyscale-3frame.png http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Animated_PNG_example_bouncing_beach_ball.png
Incase this helps for testing gthumb etc, you can trivially create APNGs via Firefox's APNG editor addon (in the Tools menu after installing) - just drag'n'drop some local images to the bottom bit and save the animation. Much better quality than animated GIFs, support in gthumb would be appreciated.
Marking as obsolete, as the 2.x version are no longer supported. Please feel free to reopen this bug report if it describes a problem that still occurs with a current version of gThumb (currently 3.4.1).
