GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 639234
Don't rely on nautilus desktop files
Last modified: 2011-02-01 00:30:39 UTC
Nautilus desktop files for Computer, Network, Desktop, ... will go away for 3.0; currently gnome-panel relies on them for a couple of things. Hardcode similar values in panel's menu items themselves, so that nautilus can freely remove the desktop files without regressign the panel.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
