Description Anthony DiSante 2010-12-24 09:13:47 UTC
In v2.0.19, Ctrl+V is mapped to the Remote -> View function. This means you can't paste hostnames, usernames, passwords, etc, into the app. You can change the key binding by highlighting that menu item and pressing a new key, but it reverts back to the default the next time you launch gFTP.

I have attached a patch that also fixes this issue to Bug 577505. New accelerator would then become Ctrl+W.

gftp is not under active development anymore and has not seen code changes for many years. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gftp/commits/master
The maintainer states that "I would like to hand this project off to someone compotent" on https://www.gftp.org/

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
