GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 637915
Focus issue when opening an image (compiz)
Last modified: 2021-06-19 08:47:02 UTC
When compiz fusion is active: When double-clicking on an image the focus remains on nautilus. EOG focus seems to be working fine with metacity. Please note that in order to reproduce you might have to logout and login again, and immediately activate compiz-fusion.
Hmm, could be related to bug 582931 even though there's no effects in use over there.
Whoops, last sentence got lost: "I will try to reproduce once I get around to get Compiz installed."
I confirm the bug on Ubuntu 12.04 with compiz. When I open an image from nautilus, nautilus keeps focus. This is very annoying. This does not happen when using metacity, nor with others gnome components like evince. See Ubuntu bug report on launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/1015658
Bug 582931 has been fixed for eog-3.11.1. As I'm not a Compiz user, it would be great if someone who was able to reproduce it, could try it again with the new version.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
