Please obtain a debug log: http://live.gnome.org/Banshee/CommonQuestions/Logs It looks like your database is locked somehow but the log you provided does not contain any debug information on the actual crash so it is hard to tell what is going on.
Created attachment 177693 [details] Banshee Debug Log Here's the debug log.
New information. Suspecting the bug might be Unity related I tried Banshee with metacity, which worked. I then tried banshee with compiz running withtout the Unity program and found the crash still occurred so the bug is Compiz related. But since David is using Unity in Natty and the bug doesn't happen for him it may also be related top my video driver, I am using the proprietary nvidia driver 260.19.29. At the end of the debug log there is this message, can someone assist me in providing the information mentioned by using --sync? Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'Banshee' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 308 error_code 3 request_code 3 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
I tried with nouveau and the crash still happens. So nothing to do with the Video driver, still compiz related though.
Completely fresh Natty install, still happening. Can't believe nobody else is effected :/
