Description Pacho Ramos 2010-12-16 19:12:56 UTC
Originally reported downstream at:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348290

This is an important regression from 2.24, probably due port to GDbus since other updates look pretty small.

To reproduce the problem do the following:
1. Add some bonobo based applets, in my case: tomboy, sensors and netspeed applets.
2. Install libbonobo-2.32.0
3. Reboot
4. Login, open a terminal and run "gnome-panel --replace"

Result: bonobo based applets will fail to load and the following error will be shown in terminal:

** (gnome-panel:6493): WARNING **: Failed to load applet OAFIID:SensorsApplet:
System exception: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0

** (gnome-panel:6493): WARNING **: Failed to load applet
OAFIID:GNOME_NetspeedApplet:
failed to get Bonobo/Control interface:

(gnome-panel:6493): Gdk-WARNING **: gdkdrawable-x11.c:952 drawable is not a
pixmap or window

** (gnome-panel:6493): WARNING **: Failed to load applet OAFIID:TomboyApplet:
failed to get Bonobo/Control interface:

Thanks a lot for your help
