Lots of GIRs are currently missing information which is important for Vala. Specifically, information on which pkg-config package they provide, and C header(s) need to be included to build against them.

This bug is to track work on getting patches included upstream so we don't have to fix them with *.metadata files.

ClutterGst (http://bugzilla.clutter-project.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2437), Cogl (http://bugzilla.clutter-project.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2438), and Mx (http://bugzilla.clutter-project.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2439) are all fixed.

Could be useful if you can show a "complete" GIR, in order to review the XML file trying to figure out if it fits Vala requirements.
