GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 633921
Embedded link to external audio files does not work
Last modified: 2011-01-30 22:20:50 UTC
In Adobe Acrobat 9+, there's the option of linking to audio files from the PDF. Upon clicking the link area, a tiny media player window will open providing a means of seeking in the audio file and the audio file will begin to auto-play. This only works after the current document has been "trusted" once or forever. In Evince (2.32.0), currently, the link shows as though it was normal text. Upon clicking it, nothing happens. Attached is a zip file containing a PDF using the described linking technique and one sample audio file (the one linked to from the first link of the PDF found on page 1 on the top left of the table ("Hamza, Anna, India, Usus").
The attachment was too big; here's a link to it instead: http://ubuntuone.com/p/NZy/

I'm sorry; the U1 links are deceptively similar. This is the right one: http://ubuntuone.com/p/Nad/
Indeed, screen annotations (used for embedding movies and sounds) are not supported in evince. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 418393 ***
