GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 628920
Very poor font rendering in certain PDFs
Last modified: 2010-10-30 14:18:55 UTC
Created attachment 169618 [details] Example PDF where Evince render the fonts poorly. Any paper I read from the American Journal of Heart Physiology (and possibly other journals... I have noticed this problem for years and am only now reporting the bug) has horribly rendered fonts in Evince. The letters look too large and seem to bump into each another. On the same computer, it looks perfect in Adobe Reader. I have included an excerpted page of a paper from the journal since it normally requires a subscription to view.

Created attachment 169620 [details] example.pdf viewed in Adobe Reader 9.2 on Ubuntu 10.04. It displays perfectly.
Looks like a known poppler issue, see: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5168 Thanks for reporting.
