GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 624987
logfs is shown as "unknown partition type"
Last modified: 2014-12-15 19:38:22 UTC
gparted doesn't recognize logfs filesystem
Can you provide some additional information or links about the logfs file system? Also are there free open source tools that run in GNU/Linux to work with this file system?
> some additional information or links about the logfs file system? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LogFS LogFS is included in the mainline Linux kernel in version 2.6.34 released on May 16, 2010. http://logfs.org/logfs/LogFS > are there free open source tools that run in GNU/Linux > to work with this file system? http://logfs.org/logfs/FAQ#head-51f27da05f124d75ed12db731318aed387c53858 Q: Where are the userland tools for working with LogFS? mkfs, fsck, ...? A: mklogfs is here as a binary for i386 or here in source. fsck does not exist yet. There is a kernel config option for debugging purposes, but the code is waiting for a userspace port.
@Arsen, is the LogFS file system still being developed and maintained? The http://logfs.org web site appear to be a place-holder page only.
> is the LogFS file system still being developed and maintained? Looks like it is not, so what to do with this bug report? WONTFIX?
Thanks for catching this André. Marking this report as WONTFIX because LogFS appears to have fallen out of favour.
