GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 623444
Cannot resize toolbox in single-window mode with patterns or brushes dialog
Last modified: 2013-07-29 10:24:58 UTC
Created attachment 165158 [details] Screenshot of single-window mode with Pattern and Brushes dialogs docked in Toolbox In single-window mode, if either the Patterns or Brushes dialogs are dragged into the Toolbox and then the size Toolbox is increased by dragging it right, you cannot then decrease the size of the Toolbox by dragging it back to the left. Steps to reproduce: 1) Enable single-window mode 2) Drag either the Patterns or Brushes dialogs into the Toolbox 3) Increase the size of the Toolbox dialog by dragging it to the right 4) Attempt to decrease the size of the Toolbox by dragging it back to the left This problem doesn't happen in multi-window mode. I think it would be handy to have the option of docking all of the dialogs on any one side of the main window in single-window mode to leave more space for the canvas.
Putting on 2.8 milestone.
i cant reproduce this in my gimp
I can't reproduce this issue with current git.
could not reproduce as well.
Me neither
I can reproduce this bug on my system. Here are my system specs: OS: Ubuntu 12.04, 64bit Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce 8800 GT/PCIe/SSE2 XOrg Graphics Driver: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau, 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build3 Gimp Installed: 2.8.6-0precise1~ppa Candidate: 2.8.6-0precise1~ppa Version table: *** 2.8.6-0precise1~ppa 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/otto-kesselgulasch/gimp/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Here is the output of "lsb_release -a; uname -a": No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS Release: 12.04 Codename: precise Linux this-computer 3.2.0-49-generic #75-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 18 17:39:32 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux As a temporary fix I just keep the brushes and pallet separated from the tool box which decreases the workspace significantly and makes the program more cumbersome forcing the user to constantly have to zoom in and back out again to see the context of their edits.
Also note my original question posted at this forum: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/231714 and the possible duplicate filed here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=701018
Correction: Where I stated "Pallet" I meant to refer to the "Patterns" dock. Here is a screenshot of the problem in its reproduced state: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/9963/sxv2.png
This bug has resurfaced in 2.8.6 but is in the meantime fixed in git, the fix will be in 2.8.8.
