daemon bt

A few times in the last week or so I've seen this bug. I'm not sure why now but may be expsed due to some driver bugs lately.

 * Laptop is docked with lid open.
 * Laptop undocked and lid closed
 * Laptop goes to sleep
 * I drive home
 * Open laptop lid and resume
 * Screen is partially locked (grabbed) but completely visible

Looks like the gl-helper is hanging and the screensaver window isn't getting mapped because it is waiting for it to finish.

There's no way a hang in XOpenDisplay (NULL) is a bug in gnome-screensaver. Should be NOTGNOME and filed against the X server, no?
Comment 3 William Jon McCann 2010-06-09 14:51:41 UTC
Probably. However, it may not really make sense to block waiting for this helper either. And I wanted to document this.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
