In ubuntu 9.04 I use Bluetooth Properties 2.28.1. I think there is a feature that should be in this application which it does not have yet. it is a feature to connect to the internet like in windows. This bluetooth application can send file, browse file, and connect with other bluetooth device without connect to internet feature.

You need to install a recent enough version of NetworkManager, and you'll be able to access the internet through your phone, using PAN or DUN.
