Description Ustun 2010-06-01 16:08:37 UTC
Users should have the ability to hide applications as in OS X. This is a very useful facility.

Simply pressing Cmd-h when I'm done with the application for the time being hides the application's all windows so that the application doesn't create visual clutter. (Actually, on OS X, hide and minimize are two different features, minimize minimizes to the dock by default, and creates some visual clutter while hide only leaves behind the app icon on the dock.)

Also, if this is implemented, ability to hide other applications' windows should be implemented too.

Hi Ustun, thanks for the bug report. I'm not sure that this would work for GNOME Shell. We don't have a dock or a window list, so there isn't clear how a user would restore their hidden windows. This is the same logic for why we don't have maximise.

Thanks again for the suggestion, but I'm going to close as notabug.
