GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619657
sent mail content contains garbage sometimes
Last modified: 2011-03-15 12:34:24 UTC
This is forwarded Debian bug report #479880. Begining of the original description is: "Some mail messages sent from evolution perhaps to multiple e-mail addreses are delivered with content garbage. There are mail headers included in mail content and national letters are not shown properly. Email account configured in Evolution uses evolution-exchange connector to connect to Exchange server (no other protocol is available). The bug is also present when using recent version of Evolution - 2.22.1 (tested on Ubuntu 8.04)." More information you can find on the Debian bug report page: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=479880 The bug was also observed with more recent version of evolution-exchange - 2.28.3 and also with UTF-8 encoding configured as default.
Does this still happen with evolution-mapi in 2.32? evolution-exchange is quite dead.
I don't have the possibility to test if the issue still exists with more recent Evolution. I already don't have access to that exchange environment. However I found interesting technical note, that describes very similiar issue: Microsoft Exchange Server cannot handle the email header sent out when there are over 17 recipients http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3099&context=SSCWNSE&uid=swg21316099&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en You can find there two links to Microsoft documents with bug descriptions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821733/ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818008/en-us I think it could be related to this bug report.
Interesting bug. However, I guess this is NOTGNOME. Please reopen if this is not the case.
