GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619085
Position of Icons in accessibility gives wrong co-ordinates
Last modified: 2021-06-18 15:13:35 UTC
Created attachment 161440 [details] Here the folder "Original Gnome files" is clicked. However, its position is shown to be above its actual position. The position of any icon in nautilus is wrong when seen from the accessibility perspective. The position of the icon is shown to be somewhere above its actual position. Further the position is also influenced by the existance of the side pane. This problem does not occur to x-nautilus-desktop. For all other opened nautilus windows, this problem occurs. The attachment is a screenshot that shows the problem. The screenshot was created using "accerciser" used to see accessibility of different applications.
I further noticed that when all the toolbars and panes are removed, the position of icons becomes somewhat close to what it should actually be. The next attachment shows that.
Created attachment 161441 [details] "Gnome Original Files" is clicked. All toolbars and panes are now removed.
Thanks for the report. Updating metadata...
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
