Description gordonm 2010-05-18 02:48:54 UTC
On email systems that I have used, Thunderbird, Groupwise, (god forbid - Outlook), I use the Wastebasket as a dumping ground for all type of junk and semi-junk email. Then after a period of time, selectively delete the items that I definitely will never need again. This way the most recently deleted items are still there, "just in case". It is an effective way to keep the inbox clean, yet still allow one to keep some deleted items.

You will find that other email clients have this simple but useful feature.
