Description Jim Avera 2010-05-18 00:26:18 UTC
Ubuntu asked that this bug be reported upstream. Please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/581491

Rhythmbox does not (at least does not appear) to allow REMOVAL of an incorrectly-entered library source directory. In preferences->Music you can specify a new directory, but Rhythmbox does not forget the old one, it simply add a new dir. As a result, there is no way to make Rhythmbox stop scanning an incorrectly-entered directory (unless scanning is completely disabled).

prefs->Music should provide a way to DELETE library directories completely, so that Rhythmbox does not scan them ever again.

For example, I created duplicate hierarchies of many gigs of music in different formats (flac, mp3, m4a), and now Rhythmbox insists on finding them all.
