GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 618437
h264_video_pwpl is a zombie
Last modified: 2011-10-21 05:29:38 UTC
Hi, On Ubuntu 10.04, using Ekiga 3.2.6 without the H264 plugin for OPAL the proccess h264_video_pwplugin_helper becomes a zombie: QUOTE: "ps -el | grep Z F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN TTY TIME CMD 0 Z 1000 2070 2069 0 80 0 - 0 exit ? 00:00:00 h264_video_pwpl <defunct> 0 Z 1000 2074 2073 0 80 0 - 0 exit ? 00:00:00 h264_video_pwpl <defunct>" Is that the normal/expected behavior? Downstream reference for the reporter: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/578056 Best regards, Yannick
I think this is because they build-depend on libavcodec from ubuntu, which was wrongly done on debian and fixed afterwards, see entry opal (3.6.6~dfsg-4) unstable; urgency=low from http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/o/opal/current/changelog. Could you please check that (i.e. that opal has in its file debian/control the package libavcodec in Build-Depends field)?
Yannick, could you check that this still applies with ekiga >= 3.3.2?
