Description Yannick 2010-05-12 10:58:33 UTC
Hi,

On Ubuntu 10.04, using Ekiga 3.2.6 without the H264 plugin for OPAL the proccess h264_video_pwplugin_helper becomes a zombie:
QUOTE:
"ps -el | grep Z

F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN TTY TIME CMD
0 Z 1000 2070 2069 0 80 0 - 0 exit ? 00:00:00 h264_video_pwpl <defunct>
0 Z 1000 2074 2073 0 80 0 - 0 exit ? 00:00:00 h264_video_pwpl <defunct>"

Is that the normal/expected behavior?

Best regards,
Yannick

I think this is because they build-depend on libavcodec from ubuntu, which was wrongly done on debian and fixed afterwards, see entry
 opal (3.6.6~dfsg-4) unstable; urgency=low
from http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/o/opal/current/changelog.

Could you please check that (i.e. that opal has in its file debian/control the package libavcodec in Build-Depends field)?

Yannick, could you check that this still applies with ekiga >= 3.3.2?
