Description axx 2010-05-10 15:05:51 UTC
lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

apt-cache policy nautilus
nautilus:
  Installed: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1

It may be Ubuntu's fault (there, I've said it ;) but in Nautilus 2.30 in the latest Lucid Lynx release, the button to toggle the location bar from the ”breadcrumb” view to the full text location / URI text field (/home/axx/stuff) is gone.

The only way to switch from one to the other now is to use the keyboard shortcut ctrl+L.

This may a decision of the GNOME team (it does free up a bit of screen space) but I find it a regression, as it makes the UI less useful and intuitive, and forces me to either click around to switch or to use a keyboard shortcut when I didn't specially want to (though I was going to use the keyboard anyway if using the URI text field, I agree).

I'd be happy to give more info if requested to.
