GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 617689
Weather for The Hague, The Netherlands is not available
Last modified: 2017-12-12 10:59:01 UTC
Original bug report in Ubuntu [1] by 323232: > In gnome-panel under clock the weather an temperature is shown for The > Netherland. The temperature is always shown as 5 degrees Centugrade (day and > night), This is not the temperature in the netherlands right now. > Changing the location pe Rotterdam for The Hague has no influence. The clock > keeps showing 5 degrees centigrade.... The weather station that is used for The Hague has not been updated since April 1st and it is possible that the station will not be responding. However, this weather station is EHVB - Valkenburg Naval Airbase. The weather station used by Weather Underground [2] is EHRD - Rotterdam Airport. This problem also means that the Valkenburg, The Netherlands location doesn't have working weather reporting. Also, it seems that Valkenburg is a small town and is quite far from the Valkenburg Naval Airport. A solution would be to simply remove this location. The proposed changes are to update the station code for The Hague, The Netherlands to EHRD, and remove the Valkenburg, The Netherlands location. Created attachment 365418 [details] [review] locations: Remove Valkenburg and its airport Valkenburg airport's weather station doesn't publish METAR data, so remove it from the list. The Hague will pick up the nearest airport instead.
