Description Angel Abad 2010-04-13 10:02:47 UTC
In Ubuntu Lucid Scott R. reported:

I have installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. So far, I am impressed! It can:

1. Recognize iPod touch out of the box and mount it.
2. Open Rhythmbox, which also recognizes it
3. Play files on the iPod
4. Transfer files to the iPod

But after transferring, I waited at least 10 minutes and the files never 'synced'. How long does it take? Why is syncing so spontaneous? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I suspect you don't have an iTunes_Control/Device/ directory on your iPod, this issue is fixed in libgpod 0.7.93

Scott R. said in ubuntu launchpad:

You are absolutely correct, I do not have that directory.

When I try and create a folder, it is immediately deleted for some reason. It appears this way at least, because I will create the directory named "Device" and then refresh, and it is no longer there.

How would I go about updating libgpod through apt?

I looked a little more in depth and I noticed two things:

1. I am currently using 0.7.93

2. Do you mean the iPod/Device folder or the iPod/iTunes_Control/Device Folder? Because I DO have the iPod/Device folder.

Thanks!

I mean /mnt/ipod/iTunes_Control/Device, and I see no reason why it would automatically get deleted.
