translator comment needed: LUKS cleartext slave
Last modified: 2014-05-30 13:26:17 UTC
What is "LUKS cleartext slave"? It is unclear how to translate these strings: #: ../monitor/gdu/ggdumount.c:984 msgid "Cannot get LUKS cleartext slave" #: ../monitor/gdu/ggdumount.c:1006 #, c-format msgid "Cannot get LUKS cleartext slave from path `%s'"
This is still valid with 0.13.7. I tried to search the homepage http://code.google.com/p/cryptsetup/ without success. Could some LUKS user, please provide a hint? Thanks.
Created attachment 277451 [details] [review] gdu: add translators comments I suppose it simply means that we can't get block device with unencrypted data to unmount... Source: OpenLMI supports Linux Unified Key Setup (LUKS) to encrypt block devices. This means any device can be formatted with LUKS, which destroys all data on the device and allows for encryption of the device future content. The block device then contains encrypted data. To see unencrypted (clear-text) data, the LUKS format must be opened. This operation creates new block device, which contains the clear-text data. This device is just regular block device and can be formatted with any filesystem. All write operations are automatically encrypted and stored in the LUKS format data. http://www.openlmi.org/sites/default/files/doc/admin/all/clones/openlmi-storage/doc/admin/usage-luks.html
