Description Christian Göbel 2010-03-20 16:58:07 UTC
Testing Ubuntu Lucid with clock applet 2.29.92.1 I have the following issue:
Under certain conditions, when right clicking on the indicator applet than a "focus" effect is applied on the clock applet.

To reproduce:
1. Boot into Gnome.
2. right-click on the clock applet (makes the calendar appear)
3. right-click again on the clock applet (make the calender disappear again)
4. In the panel, click either of the icons of the indicator applet
5. result: the "button" of the clock is getting a focus effect (background colour) applied.

expected result:
Clicking on any icon of the indicator applet should not have any visual effect on the "button" of the clock applet.

Additional observation (continue the recipe above)
6. right click on the menu in the panel
7. right click on either of the icons of the indicator applet
8. result: now the "focus" effect is not applied anymore.

The bug is also reported on launchpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-panel/+bug/424315

Feel free to ask for further information.

Sorry, I think there's a bit of confusion with right and left click. To show/unshow calendar we need left click. Then wrong brown focus (Ambiance Theme, light blue instead of gray in Clearlooks) appears when we left click on icons in indicator applet, like volume for example, everything is fine if we left/right click on other icons like network applet. Right clicking on indicator applet runs fine. Then simply I can reproduce points 6 and 7, for me the wrong focus effect remains, maybe I didn't understand points below.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
