Description Tomas Barros 2010-03-17 04:45:36 UTC
Hello,

When I copy files from the computer to my HTC Magic, which runs Android, they do not appear again in the list of the HTC Magic (after remounting) but in fact they are in the phone and the Music application in the phone list them and play them.

This is not for all files, I have noticed that it happens with files that have an empty track number mp3 tag, that when they are copied to the phone, in the phone, they appear starting with a dot.

For example:
In the PC: Music/Artist/Album/Song (where Song does not have a trak number tag)
In the Phone after copied: Music/Artist/Album/. Song

I guess that banshee in the PC doest not see files starting with a dot, and that the default behaviour when coping to the phone is to use the file name "Track. Title". Maybe not to use the track number when does not have a value can be a fast fix.

Thanks in advance

Tomas Barros

File with a name starting with a dot are ignored, because those are hidden files on Unix.

Now that the patch in bug #489861 has been committed, we have optional patterns for file names. So we should probably replace the default pattern "%track_number%. %title%" with "{%track_number%. }%title%"
That means that the dot would not be written if the track number is empty.

This report is pretty much the same as Bug 608678, which was closed as a duplicate of Bug 489861 (which Bertrand already mentioned). When Alexander closed 608678, he mentioned that:

> ...this will be fixed when item 2 from bug 489861, comment 22 is
> addressed. Closing as a duplicate.

So I'm also going to close this as a dupe of 489861, but feel free to reopen if you disagree.

The duplicate bug was actually wrong, this is a duplicate of bug 634096, which
was fixed 7 months ago.

Tomas, if you still see this bug in banshee 2.1.0 or newer, can you reopen bug
634096? Thanks!
