the weird effects

Use a snippet with multiple placeholders, like: if or for.
Select-all and delete.
The placeholders stay and weird effect occur.

This also causes the odd mark to no go away even when you undo.

This removes the snippet as soon as the begin and end
markers of the snippet have collapsed onto each other
