The issue seems to be new since the 2.28.3 update, similar to #608203, when moving the horizontal seperator between the messages list and the preview widget, closing evolution and restart it it's put back in the default location

the issue seems not new, the code didn't change recently and it doesn't happen now. there is also a 2.29 bug about that, let's close the bug there
