Description Luca Bruno 2010-02-28 09:02:09 UTC
Hello,
forwarding from http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=505351.

Following these steps we can see that gnome-terminal can unexpectedly erase text already written to the terminal.
I saw this behaviour in versions 2.22.3 (debian lenny amd64) and 2.18.2 (ubuntu 7.10 i386)

The steps are:

1) open gnome-terminal
2) maximize it
3) press enter several times until the prompt reaches the bottom of the terminal window
4) write a command, such as 'date' and press enter
5) press CTRL+SHIFT+T to open a new tab. now we are positioned at the new tab
6) press CTRL+PgUp to switch back to the first tab

Now the output of 'date' is lost, it does not appear in the window, as before leaving the first tab appeared.
