GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 611120
Silently lost all scheduled transactions
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:35:35 UTC
At some point in the last week or so, gnucash silently deleted all of my scheduled transactions. The already committed transactions are still in my accounts with the GUID intact, but the scheduled transaction itself with that GUID no longer exists in the gnucash file. Of course, I only noticed this after my backups had cycled out already.
We are very sorry to hear about such a problem. However, we haven't experienced this particular issue before from other users or by ourselves, so in order to do something about it, we would need more information so that we might be able to reproduce the error. Can you try to narrow down the point in time when the scheduled transactions were "lost"? Did you do anything special with your file, e.g. opening it with different gnucash versions?
Forgive me because I don't follow gnucash development, but there seems to have been at some point a transition from an "old" scheduled transaction editor to a "new" one with a slightly different interface. I have never noticed the "new" editor interface until losing the transactions, so I'm inclined to believe that the data loss happened at the time when the "new" interface was brought in and the file was saved under such a version.
