Description freggy1 2010-02-14 15:54:34 UTC
I have only a telepathy-butterfly account defined in Empathy, and have myself added to the contact list. I set myself Invisible, and then I see that I'm shown as offline in my contact list, as expected.

After some time (I suspect after I'm idle for some time and the screensaver kicks in), I see that my acocunt is shown as "Busy". Yet Empathy's presence and status combobox still shows Invisible. Empathy should never automatically change the status from invisible to a non-invisible state.

I have a similar problem on my Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix.
I set the status to invisible, but after some time (that the screen become black automatically), my status is set automatically to "Away".

Hi,
I tried to reproduce this error by creating two telepathy-butterfly accounts(one added as another's friend) and logging in with each on two separate clients but was unsuccessful on both: the current master branch-Empathy 2.90.99.20101001 and the last empathy stable version-Empathy 2.30.2

So according to my observation and code inspection, this bug exists no more!
Any more information and butterfly debugging logs are welcomed on this topic!

While testing the above bug, i used telepathy-butterfly 0.5.11-0ubuntu1
If anyone can reproduce the bug, do include a debug log for quick bug detection.

I can still reproduce this bug with current telpathy stack/empathy as included in Debian squeeze. The problem is not butterfly itself, but only happens when there is a teleapthy-salut account too. To reproduce: set status on invisible with your butterfly account activfe, then in Empathy add a "People nearby account, and your status is immediately changed to "Busy".

That's bug #550502 -- which is simply a display bug. If you do an mc-tool show on each account, they should have the correct status set.
