I find it interesting that the file browser is missing this feature, as it is commonly used today.

Possible patch to close tabs with middle mouse button

I agree it would be nice to close tabs with the middle mouse button. I use this all the time in Firefox, so I made a simple fix to accomplish it. My patch may not be the best way to do this, but it works.

Hi Bill, and thanks for the patch. This has already been discussed in the past and it seems we're consistent in *not* having the Firefox behaviour in GNOME applications. Closing as a duplicate of bug #558889.
