GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 606697
Vague message when Finance::Quote fails.
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:33:13 UTC
With GC 2.2.9 and FQ 1.15, if I attempt to retrieve price info for symbol xrb with quote source "canada", the attempt fails and I get either a popup dialog with the message "There was a system error while retrieving the price quotes.", or it pops up an empty command window (like it used to, and it takes some time like it is working), but eventually responds with a message box stating "Unable to retrieve quotes for these items", and lists _all_ my symbols (fund, stock, and currency). At the command line I get: C:\Program Files\gnucash\bin>perl gnc-fq-dump canada xrb row 0 out of range (-1) at C:/Perl/site/lib/Finance/Quote/FinanceCanada.pm line 81 If I turn off price retrieval for XRB, then all my other quotes are retrieved successfully. It would be exceedingly handy if GC could tell me which price retrieval effort failed.
Is this also a problem with gnucash 2.3.8 or the current nightly builds at http://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/trunk/ ?
I don't have a 2.3.* version installed, so can't comment. Will be happy to update this when I get one.
Is this still an issue with the latest release?
Sorry, I no longer have GC installed, so can't comment.
