Description Alejandro Imass 2009-12-09 18:16:27 UTC
Hi,

It would be really helpful to have a simple button in the General tab of preferences named "Proxy Settings" that would simply fire-up the gnome-network-preferences application. This would very much enhance and ease the user experience. I for one, have been using Gnome for *many* years and it took me a while to figure out that these settings had to be done at the Gnome level.

BTW the gnome-network-preferences "Use the same proxy for all protocols" is broken, and Epiphany cannnot use https if users rely on this non-working option. Again, being a very experienced user it took me even longer to figure out why I could not use gmail via proxy with Epiphany. See bug and my comment (#19) in bug 589952.

Using Debian Lenny with versions:
GNOME gnome-network-preferences 2.22.2.1
GNOME epiphany-browser 2.22.3

I don't think we're going to move links to system settings into application preferences dialogs.
