GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 603656
how do alerts work?
Last modified: 2018-07-01 08:28:31 UTC
This is my first trying the app, but I can not figure out how alerts works. So, here is what I'm doing: http://blip.tv/file/2923318 what do I need to do to receive alerts? I'm also take a look to the db at $HOME/.local/share/BillReminder/billreminder.db and it does not store any alert dates.. so I'm really confused about it
Hey Marco, You see, in the process of migrating the existing database layer to use sqlalchemy, I never ported the alarms part... that explains why you're not seeing it getting saved in the db file. :) The truth is I was never a big fan of this feature and am not sure if I want to keep it... In the meantime, try to run from your checkout the billreminderd.py file and watch it for notifications (or bugs as there may still be some kinks to work out due to the sqlalchemy work). I'll keep this issue open for the time being.
Billreminder is not under active development anymore and has not seen code changes for more than seven years. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/billreminder/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
