1. open existing png 
2. select text tool
3. enter a text string
4. Under the tool options for the text tool increase the font size in px to around 8192
5. hit {enter} 
6. get a "GLib-ERROR **:gmem,c:156 failed to allocate 668672400 bytes aborting..." dialog


Yes, I know I shouldn't ask for a bit of text that large. It was a typo meant to edit the existing font from 62 to 82 px.
