Description Michał Gołębiowski-Owczarek 2009-11-21 18:01:02 UTC
Nautilus memory usage is getting higher and higher as time passes. Especially entering a directory with a lot of multimedia causes it to grow. I assume it's a caching functionality; however, I really don't want a file manager to eat up 1/2 GB of my memory! There are more useful things I need it for.

My zoom level is 100% so it's not needed to increase it to see a bug - it's enough to have a lot of media files browsed.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:48:16 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
