Description David Zeuthen (not reading bugmail) 2009-11-09 16:17:23 UTC
Please see bug 597804 comment 4. In a nutshell, if you have a thumbnail that isn't the same aspect ratio as the file it is a thumbnail for, things look/act weird when you select that file because suddenly the icon is now bigger.

I'll attach some screenshots.

Don't know if this is worth fixing as it's not a big inconvenience. One possible fix is to avoid thumbnailing the file if preview::icon is set.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
