What do you mean by "private chat room"? Which protocol are you using?

private chat - password conference

Interesting answer, a little bit short maybe ...

I've the same problem (I think ...), I simply can't connect to a private chat room protected with a password. I can list the chatrooms of the server but join doesn't apply. Of course Gajim works as expected.

I use :

empathy 2.28.1.1
telepathy-gabble 0.8.5

I search to have more debugging infos if you need !
