this report has been filed here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/414186

"Pasting a path into the location bar in the Extract window should paste the copied characters (or selected characters in the case of pasting using the middle mouse button) and not have any of the characters be selected in the location bar.

The final character in the pasted characters is always selected, which means the selected text that is pasted using the middle mouse button is no longer selected and can not subsequently be pasted using the middle mouse button with out selecting it again."

Thanks,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
