Whenever I right click on a file (song and video) and mouse over the menu
(speciffically the menu item >add to playlist>), the entire program and most of
my system freezes and cannot be shutdown in anyway other than a hard reset.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in version 1.5.0 (it's a development release).
