80x80 grid of data for 3d surface plot saved using excel

3D surface plot is blank in Spreadsheet.
Gnumeric 1.8.4
Ubuntu 9.04 32bit
Comment 1 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-09-02 18:07:14 UTC
I can replicate this in current git. It seems that the import stores the 80 by 80 data area as separate series (one for each row).
Comment 2 Jean Bréfort 2009-09-03 08:42:18 UTC
We do not support these plots with implied X,Y values. At the moment, they must be explicit.
Comment 3 Jean Bréfort 2009-09-03 12:11:54 UTC
I was wrong, we do support such plots in 1.9.x. Just the x values were wrongly required.
No support for 1.8.4 which does not have 3f surface plots. Thanks for reporting.
Comment 4 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-09-04 20:41:58 UTC
While this appeared to be fixed briefly, it is now broken again: When the plot is imported, rather than using position inside the region as x.y coordinates, the first row and column is used to label the axes. Since they are all 0, this graph is now incorrect!
Comment 5 Jean Bréfort 2009-09-05 05:33:07 UTC
Fixed. Hope it does not break other surface plots imports. Need to check when I can access excel to make a few test files.

Sorry, but this file still doesn't import correctly in Gnumeric git, at least there is no surface plot visible!

As you see, the surface plots is displayed for me. git diff returns nothing both in gnumeric and goffice.

This is very strange. With an uptodate gnuemric and goffice I do not get a surface plot. See attached screenshot.

the configuration dialog

I have attached a screenshot of the series configuration of the plot after opening it in Gnumeric. Obviously something is going wrong!
Comment 11 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-12-09 20:03:48 UTC
fixed by Jean and Morten!
Comment 12 John 2009-12-10 01:37:02 UTC
Should the axis labels be 1 to 81 for both x and y instead of all zeros?
Comment 13 Andreas J. Guelzow 2009-12-10 03:09:52 UTC
Yes. Have a look at Jean's screenshot in comment #8. (I get that one now too.)
