log from downstream of users log file

Binary package hint: empathy

I don't know how but I have managed to send the following characters in a "/me"
message (I think I've copy/pasted them):

`ǿ

Empathy fails parsing those characters, so any message included in the same log
file is not shown anymore.

Warning message:
Failed to parse
file:'/home/test/.gnome2/Empathy/logs/gtalk0/test@test.com/20090816.log'

I'm attaching the problematic log file. Just drop it in a contact's log folder
and go to "See previous conversations" to reproduce the error.

please mark this fixed it does not exist in 2.29.5
Comment 3 Guillaume Desmottes 2010-01-18 10:50:57 UTC
Not sure. AFAIK we didn't change this code since a while so I doubt the bug is actually fixed.
Comment 4 Emilio Pozuelo Monfort 2011-06-22 14:08:06 UTC
I have just tested it and the logger can't parse it because that's not valid xml. So the problemwas in Empathy not escaping the logs properly. But the logger does that correctly now, so we can close this bug.
