GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 591530
sharing: UPnP support for Internet Connection Sharing
Last modified: 2020-11-12 14:30:48 UTC
I recently stumbled onto the Internet Connection Sharing feature of NetworkManager ("Shared to other computers") and it worked pretty okay. But it doesn't seem to support UPnP port-forwarding for systems on the shared connection. (My xbox 360 reported that there was a "moderate NAT", the error it reports when it can't forward it's ports, restricting who it can connect to.) NetworkManager seems to be aiming for everything to "Just work", and I figure this would majorly increase it's usefulness if it could forward ports to client systems automatically.

Would be nice.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
