Description Michael Monreal 2009-07-28 13:44:33 UTC
Right now pitivi only seems to offer a profile for export to CD. IMHO what most people want is a DVD, so output to mpeg2 video or iso would be great.

So what you are requesting is a DVD exporting "rendering profile", not a full-fledged DVD authoring feature (with menus etc.), am I correct?
Comment 2 Michael Monreal 2010-02-06 14:52:41 UTC
As a fist start, "normal" DVD export would be helpful. As a second step, simple menu editing like what devede provides would be nice to have, too.

In the end, it would be great if pitvi would support the whole "get source material from cam etc / edit / create DVD"
Comment 3 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2010-02-06 22:51:24 UTC
Confirming for the first part, this should happen sometime when the refactoring work is completed on the rendering UI, but I think this depends on gst-convenience among other things.

For the full fledged dvd authoring feature with menus etc., I'm not certain whether or not pitivi devs consider this to be part of the planned feature set (or maybe as a plugin, I don't know). I doubt the 2nd part would be implemented soon (unless somebody wants to do a patch for it).
Comment 4 Michael Monreal 2010-02-06 23:12:40 UTC
I understand... IIRC is was mainly looking for a way to output mpeg2 and use that in another app (but I may be wrong)

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
